Consignor Guidelines
1. Reserve your consignor number.
2. Choose and prepare the items you would like to sell.
3. Enter your items into our online inventory management system.
4. Bring your items to Dittos Item Delivery during the scheduled delivery times.
5. Enjoy shopping the consignor-only pre-sale!
6. After the sale, pick up your unsold items during the scheduled pick-up time or leave them to be donated to charity.
7. Enjoy the proceeds of your sales.
What's NEW This Sale
  • Due to our continued growth, we will no longer be able to accommodate on-site tagging. All lables MUST be attached BEFORE you bring your items to Item Delivery. Sorry, No Exceptions. You are welcome to pick-up your labels during General Item Delivery times and take them home to attach. We will also no longer be able to print barcode labels on-site. If you have a missing barcode label please contact Carole before Item Delivery begins.
  • Please observe the following limitations: Maternity Items (seasonal only) limit of 10 pieces, Stuffed Animals limit of 5 pieces, and Shoes limit of 8 pair per sex.
  • When choosing movies and video games to sell, please remember that this a Children's Sale.  In the interest of children, we will not accept "R" rated movies or "M" rated games.
  • Regarding Shoes:  Please make sure that all shoes you bring are clean on the top AND bottom.  Also, due to space issues, we can no longer accept shoes in ziplock bags.  String or zip ties are great for attaching shoes together.
  • If you are bringing a car seat it must be less than five years old.  Also, please check the item for Safety Recall and be prepared to truthfully sign a document saying that your car seat has not been recalled. 
1. Reserve your consignor number.
Returning Consignors: Please DO NOT register again. To participate in the upcoming sale, simply login to our site and click to activate your account.

ONLINE: Complete the registration information. Be sure to write down your Username and Password. You will need them each time you enter our inventory management system. After submitting your registration you will automatically be assigned a consignor number.

NO INTERNET ACCESS: If you or someone you know wants to be a consignor but does not have internet access, you can still participate! Just call Carole at 325-672-0967 to register and get special instructions.

2. Choose and prepare the items you would like to sell.
Dittos for Kiddos is not a garage sale. All items must be clean and free from stains and odors. We cannot stress enough how much the appearance of your items can impress a buyer and increase your sales. Clothes that are clean and smell fresh always sell better. Starch, a little bleach, or a needle and thread work wonders. Button the buttons, zip the zippers, and secure your clothes on the hanger, just as you would see in a retail store.

IRON your clothing. You will be surprised how much newer it will look. We will not accept clothing that looks like it just came out of a garbage sack in your attic. No one will want to buy it!

Please be sure that all items are tagged correctly according to the following instructions.
Tagging Instructions
Cards:
3X5 index cards only. Cards will be turned vertically
Barcode labels MUST be attached directly to the index cards and not onto the items themselves!
Pins:
Please use medium or large safety pins only. No small gold pins or straight pins. They will fall off. Be sure to place the pin horizontally and catch the garment and card twice. For delicate fabrics (i.e. satin, knit, etc.) that may be damaged by a safety pin, please attach the 3X5 index card to the tag in the neck of the garment.
Hangers:
All clothing must be on appropriately sized hangers. Absolutely no clothing in ziplock bags (including infant sleepers and gowns). Anything you can put on a hanger will sell better (i.e. bibs, blankets, sheets, cloth diapers, belts, even barrettes and hair bows). If you want to pin several items together or even put hair accessories in a ziplock and attach them to the hanger that will be fine. Please use wire hangers if at all possible - flimsy plastic ones break and clothes end up on the floor. Plastic coated wire hangers or the plastic tubular type hangers are fine. Check with your dry cleaners or the dollar store if you need supplies. The hanger hook should face the left with the tag pinned onto the right shoulder of the garment as you face it (see picture below). Pin sets securely together on one hanger by hanging the shirt first, then turning the hanger over, pin the pants/shorts/skirt by the waist to the backside of the hanger. Be sure the pins catch the hanger to support the pants/skirt. Do not pin second pieces (pants or skirts) under a jacket or shirt where they cannot be seen. DO THE TUG TEST!! The Tug Test checks to see how securely your clothing items are attached to the hanger. If you tug on the clothing item and it even partially comes off of the hanger you need to make it more secure. This is for protection of your items. Clothes that end up on the floor will not sell. We will also apply the Tug Test when your items are checked at Dittos Item Delivery. If the clothing is not adequately secured you will be responsible for securing it to the hanger before the item will be accepted.
Items Other Than Clothing:
Group small items together in a zip-lock bag. PIN THE 3x5 CARD TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE BAG. No blankets, bibs, cloth diapers, etc. in zip-lock bags. These types of items can be grouped together and put on a hanger. Attach shoes to each other with a large pin or zip tie, and attach your 3x5 card to the connecting pin or zip tie. Due to space issues, do not bring shoes in shoe boxes. Use clear packing tape to attach cards to non-clothing items. Scotch tape will not hold, and your tickets may become lost if not securely attached.
Toys should include all parts. Any tiny, loose pieces can be packaged in a zip lock bag. Attach the bag to the main item with heavy packing tape. Also, tape or staple the bag's zipper to keep small hands out! On toys with multiple parts please consider adding a strip of masking tape on extra parts with your consignor number and a "goes with..." description. This will help us to help you during the sale to re-unite parts that may become separated.
Books that are sold in sets should have an extra index card listing the book titles of each book being sold in the set. This will help keep shoppers from opening the package to see what books are inside and minimize the risk of books becoming separated from the set.
Barcode Labels:
The item information that you enter into the online inventory management system will be printed on a label and also be used to create a barcode that is specific to each item. This system will greatly speed up the check-out process and the time it takes to get checks prepared after each sale. Dittos for Kiddos will supply the printed barcode labels, but each consignor will be responsible for applying the labels to their own 3x5 tags. This online inventory management system allows us to have an efficient check-out process and great turn-around time in getting checks to consignors after each sale.
NOTE: Before you spend your valuable time tagging and delivering items to Dittos for Kiddos, make sure that you have met all of these requirements. We will inspect all items at Dittos Item Delivery and return to you any that do not meet these criteria. Thank you in advance for your help!

Acceptable Items

  • Appropriate Seasonal Clothing (ie Fall/Winter or Spring/Summer)
  • Infant clothing - price competitively, its abundant!
  • Sizes preemie thru 20 for boys and girls
  • Shoes which are in excellent condition and clean on top AND bottom
    (Limit of 8 pair per sex)
  • Baby equipment that is thoroughly cleaned and checked for safety recall
  • Children's furniture (must be assembled)
  • Bedding - infant and juvenile
  • Toys, books, games, videos, DVDs, etc.
  • Stuffed Animals in like new condition
    (Limit of 5 pieces)
  • Sports and Video equipment
  • Battery operated toys with working batteries
  • Dress-Up Items
  • Maternity clothing
    (Limit of 10 pieces)
  • Holiday Fashions
  • Off-season clothing (ie Winter items will not be accepted for Spring Sale)
  • Out-of-Date clothing - it will not sell!
  • Junior or misses clothing
  • Underwear or Socks (unless new)
  • Slippers or House Shoes (unless new)
  • Battery operated toys without working batteries
  • Baby dolls without clothing
  • Grab bags of loose toys unless theme oriented
    (Bags of all army toys, all McDonalds toys, or all Barbie toys, etc. are acceptable.)
  • Car Seats that are more than five years old or have been safety recalled
  • Baby equipment that is not clean and checked for safety recall
  • Movies with a rating of "R"
  • Video games with a rating of "M"
  • Used pacifiers or nipples
  • Any item that is stained, torn, or extremely worn
  • Items with missing buttons, broken zippers, or lost parts

3. Enter your items into our online inventory management system.
Gather your items near your computer. Organizing your clothes by size and gender will make entering your items quicker and easier for you. It will also speed up your item delivery process.

Login to the My Inventory page and enter a description and price for each of your items. Do this carefully and accurately. You will be able to do this all at once or at different times. As you enter your items, each item will be given an item number. Writing this number in the center of the index card that is pinned to your item and keeping your items in number order until you apply the barcode lables will speed up your tagging process.

Item #
This number will be automatically assigned as you enter items. It may be helpful to write the assigned item number in the center of the index card where the barcode will be affixed. Please note that the item numbers do not start over every sale.

Description
In the event that a tag becomes separated from an item, the description will help to match the tag back to the item. The description needs to be short but also have some detail (i.e. "blue Oshkosh jumper w/ print blouse" rather than "toy" or "blue shirt"). The description is limited to 40 characters/spaces.

Sale Type
Choose the type of sale in which your item will be sold . You may choose Spring, Fall, or Both. This feature allows you to enter items for either sale at any time of year. You may then choose to view only items that are part of the current sale when browsing your inventory. Clothing or seasonal items are generally suitable for either the Spring or Fall sale while many other items are appropriate for Both.

Category
Choose one of the following categories: Accessories, Bedding, Books, Clothing - Boys, Clothing - Girls, Costumes, Equipment, Furniture, Games, Maternity, Media, Shoes - Boys, Shoes - Girls, Toys, Other

Size
Use for shoes and clothing only. Do not use for toys, equipment, etc. A numerical size is required for all children's clothing (No S, M, or L). For preemie clothing you may put preemie for the size. Letter sizing (S, M, L, XL) is appropriate on maternity clothing only.

Discount
Yes or No. Yes means the item can be sold for half-price during the half-price sale. No means that the item will only sell for full price, even during the Half-Price Sale.

Price
Please remember to use full dollar increments (no $5.50, $10.99, etc.). Also remember the $2.00 minimum price on all items. How to determine your selling price: first look at the original retail price - whether you paid original or not - and take 65-75% off. This gives you a starting point. If the item is a highly desirable brand, you can go up from the 75% off. If it is an item that is still in good shape, but from Target or Wal-Mart, etc., you might need to stay around the lower price. After determining what you think is a fair price, ask yourself, "Would I pay $X for this item?" or "Would I pay more than this?". If you would pay more, add a dollar or maybe two to the price. The people who make the most money have higher quality items priced in the ranges of $5 to $15. A few high quality items will really add up quickly! Keep in mind that your goal is to sell your items, otherwise you will be taking it home with you at the end of the sale. Be careful not to over price. Barcode Labels:
Once you finish entering ALL of your items into your inventory page, use the form at the bottom of your page to let us know you are ready for your barcode labels to be printed. When we receive your request your barcode labels will be printed. If your request arrives before the mailing deadline, you may choose to have your labels mailed directly to you for a fee of $2. This fee will be deducted from your check. You may also choose to pick up your labels for no fee. Please watch for a return email that the barcodes are printed and ready for you to pick up or are on their way to you! If you do not receive a reply within 48 hours, please check to make sure we received your original email! If you request your labels to be mailed during the last day or two before the deadline, it may take longer to get your labels in the mail due to the high volume of requests.

For those who do not receive labels by mail or pick them up before Item Delivery begins, you are welcome to pick the barcode labels up at Item Delivery, take them home to attach to your items, and then return to deliver your items. Due to space limitations, labels MUST be attached BEFORE you bring your items to Item Delivery. Sorry, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please remember to observe the guidelines for pricing & tagging. Check the Dates & Location page for the final deadline to request Labels By Mail. We will not mail out any barcodes after the cut-off date. You may only request Labels By Mail one time per sale. Labels for any items entered after submitting a request will be picked up at Dittos Item Delivery.

4. Bring your items to Dittos Item Delivery during the scheduled delivery times.
Bring a minimum of 15 acceptable items to Dittos Item Delivery at your convenience. When you arrive, take your items in and hang them on an available rack. Your items will be checked to make sure there are no stains, tears, missing parts, etc. While your items are being checked, you will sign a consignor agreement and receive your shopping passes. The last step to Item Delivery is to hang your clothing on the correct rack and put toys, etc. on the sales floor. Please allow a minimum of one hour for Drop-off.

All furniture must be assembled before it can be left at Item Delivery. Please bring any necessary tools that you will need for assembly.

Important Note: Please note that a 35% consignment fee in addition to a $10.00 participation fee will be deducted from each consignor's check. This fee helps defray a fraction of the cost of pulling off the event. This is YOUR advertising and facility fee budget used to sell your items for you.

Dittos for Kiddos makes every effort to properly handle, display, and care for items placed in the sale. However, in the event of damage, loss, theft, fire, or natural disaster, Dittos for Kiddos is not liable for these goods.

5. Enjoy shopping the consignor-only pre-sale!
At Dittos Item Delivery each consignor will receive a pass to shop our Pre-Sale and a pass to shop the Consignor Only Half-Price Sale. This time is for consignors only. One adult per pass. NO CHILDREN AT THE PRESALE OR CONSIGNOR ONLY HALF-PRICE PLEASE. Be sure and bring their measurements with you. Children are welcome the remainder of the sale.

Consignors will also be given one Guest Pass to give to a friend. The Guest Pass may be used by one adult only during a special time at the Pre-Sale. Check our Dates and Location page for Guest shopping times.

6. After the sale, pick up your unsold items during the scheduled pick-up time or leave them to be donated to Zambia Mission or a local charity.
Dittos for Kiddos workers will have your items sorted by consignor number before you arrive for pickup. THERE IS ONLY ONE PICK-UP TIME AVAILABLE. Please allow a minimum of 10-15 minutes for pick-up. If you are unable to come at this time please make arrangements with someone to pick up your items for you. They will need your name and consignor number. Any items left at the end of the designated pick-up time will be donated to charity. Check our Dates and Location page for pick-up times.

7. Enjoy the proceeds of your sales.
With our computerized system you will be able to login to the My Inventory area and view your sales totals before your check is even printed. Updated sales information will be posted at the end of each sale day. Checks will be mailed two weeks AFTER the Pick-Up date. You will receive 65% of the selling price. A facility fee of $10 will be deducted from your total earnings.
